    • Thank so much Fae. With such easy access to recipes on a global scale thanks to the internet I thought it was essential for my sanity – especially the butter conversions! Sticks, cups, ounces, grams…enough to drive one to drink!!!

        • Hilarious! Well as I have lived in Kenya, Canada and England you can imagine the state of my recipe books. When I first moved here, I had to ask my mum to send me a set of measuring cups as they couldn’t be found here. I had never used a set of scales in my life and now I can’t imagine baking without them.

          • I don’t do scales – I leave the baking to my wife. I cook! We had a big argument once when she asked me how much a cup of something was in weight. I told her that it depended on the density of the “something” – she doesn’t do Science….

    • Oh Peter – thank you! I am going to check my calculations again over the weekend. However, there is a link on this page for kitchen conversions that you mint want to use instead – http://www.mykitchencalculator.com It is limited to UK/US conversions however but I guess it is a start! I was a bit worried that I might offend you but I thought it was best to flag it up rather than have someone use it and have a flop!
